election din sackyiyo (election day is over!)

To my faithful prayer warriors-
Thank you soo much for praying for election day in nepal. It was an amazingly relaxed day for us. It was the quitest day I have ever experienced in Nepal.. at least in our neighborhood. Praise the Lord I know that he is using your prayers and working here in nepal. Because there was no one allowed on the roads except by walking it was a very very quiet day in our neighborhood. for once even the dogs weren’t barking.. which is crazy. The only real excitement was when we were at our friends matt and ashleys’ house (we spent the day there playing games because they live close and we didn’t want to stay home all day) and we were eating dinner and their neighbords panic alarm went off (which is like a burgular alarm) and we weren’t sure if we should hit the floor because a bomb was going off or what! but it was simply a false alarm. So as far as we have heard things were so much more peaceful then expected.. praise the Lord. From what I know there were some incidents of violence but no where near what they expected. God is soo awesome. please please keep praying though because now is where the real craziness could begin. Because it is not electronic like in america.. it will probablly take about 10 days they say for election results to come out… and still several places canceled elections due to violence and killings so those places will have to have re-elections… so really the prayer is needed for when the results come out. Really it is a lose lose situation.. if the communisty party won everything will change in nepal and well…..it’s not good.. but if they lose they have pledged they will win by any means.. so please just keep praying. Look how well your prayers worked today. Our God is soo good!
I love you guys
Jenn

  1. Jenn,

I was so thrilled to see that you had posted. T.J. and I didn’t expect to hear from you for a while, so this was such a wonderful surprise. Praise God for the good report! He IS answering our prayers, and I know He is going to continue to intervene.

How awesome to see God’s obvious handiwork in such a tangible way! I am rejoicing that you and your team had a nice, relaxing day and that the elections went more smoothly than expected. Mahima! We’ll continue to intercede for you and “your people.”

    Love you bunches,
    Sandra

  2. Jenn,

Oh how I/we have prayed for Nepal and you and Leah! I just praise him with all my heart!

We will keep praying! I talked to your mama a long time last night! She is amazing! I’ll call Michelle soon! I love you so much! Glory! I’ll be in touch!

  3. I am very thankful to God that He is protecting my girl. I was so excited to read your blog because we all thought that we would not hear from you for awhile. There are alot of people praying for you and the situation in Nepal. We will continue praying and keep those blogs coming as much as you can. Your sister and brother-in-law were sick today with a stomach virus. The doctor called in some medicine for them and they are feeling better as of late this afternoon. God blessed them with the cost of the medicine because it was very good but expensive medicine and God allowed them to get it for cheaper. God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Daddy has left for the Emmaus Walk. We look forward to hearing from you again. We love you and miss you!!!

  4. I am so glad that you are faithful in your postings! It is so wonderful to hear that your election day was peaceful. It is so hard to imagine why there are those who refuse to believe, when all they have to do is to meet someone like you who truly knows HIM and is sitting in the palm of HIS hands. Enjoy your weekned!

    Love,
