Walking through the Bible

Hello hello. First I want to apologize to my family real quick that I have not been able to call you.. our internet was cut off for awhile here and it’s impossible to find a place to call from when there is electricty and it is not the worst time to call you in america. so i am sorry.. but I am alive and doing great and I miss you!
So today I went for my exercise walk/i would love to run but it’s to hard to dodge the animals people and try not to fall in the wholes ont he dirt road that could eat you… and I realized I was basically walking through the Bible. As I was walking I saw literally 4 women at a well drawing their water, then I walked some more and saw a stable just like Jesus would be born in and there was a baby laying in a little basket.. then I walked some more and saw the good samaritan helping out someone on the side of the road who had tipped over their bicyle because of the dusty streets.. then I saw the “isrealites” worshipping these idols made of gold and silver. I saw one family offering food sacrificed to an idol (paul mentioned that in his letters).. I saw rice fields with harvesters.. I saw someone washing anothers feet, I saw a monostary on a mountain just like the High Places mentioned in the Old Testamnet… I saw women carrying jugs of water on their heads.. and I saw shepherds that I wonder how they would respond if the angel came to them in the night and said behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be for all people… and you know what else I saw.. I saw Jesus walking with me. I saw him stoop down, spit in the sand, and open a blind man’s eyes. I heard him point to the himilayan mountains and say someday I will come in the clouds and REIGN like on Mt. Zion.. I heard Jesus say as we looked at the rice fields.. see the harvest is plentiful but the workers are FEW! I heard Jesus say If you love me you will feed my sheep. And as a man carying a very heavy burden on his back walked by me, I heard him whisper.. come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you REST!
What a great walk Jesus and I had together!!

Could you just please pray for nepal right now. Things are boiling here and my heart is breaking for the people. I was supposed to join a group of friends from america in the same area of the village where I was before.. but there are big time strikes going on on the way so it would not be wise or even able to get there. And because of these strikes there is no gas/electricity or water in the valley so it is getting very difficult for those living in kathmandu and no one in charge.. so what to do.. people just get angry! (ok.. so I know I have some worriers who are reading this.. don’t worry i do not feel i am in any danger.. i know God is protecting me.. i just feel that nepal needs extra prayers). So if you would pray hard for our country right now.

i love you guys
jenn

  1. I think you made the right decision about visiting your friends. I was praying for you about that. I love you a lot! Thanks for sharing your walk through the Bible. 🙂

  2. Jenn,

What an incredible walk with the Lord! Seeing things through His eyes always puts a whole new perspective on the world around us, doesn’t it? People who think the Bible isn’t relevant for our society today should read your blog. Like it says in Ecclesiastes, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

I am going to my prayer closet now (a stall in the ladies’ bathroom, he,he,he) to pray fervently for Nepal. Please continue to seek God’s guidance on when and where you should go. Thank you so much for updating us on the situation and for allowing us to be a part of God’s work there.

    Love you bunches,
    Sandra

  6. Jenn, I’m at work, so I probably shouldn’t be writing this, but I love you my sister and Read Ps. 66:7. I hope that is encouraging. It has been and will be my prayer for Nepal. Also may God raise up the mountain of the Lord as the chief mountain (See Is. 1 or 2…somewhere in there). I can hear your heart through your letter. I hope to see you soon.
