recipe for life..
So lately i’ve been doing alot of cooking.. who would have thought that would be a minstry that God would give me here (well I guess knowing my mom and how she is such an incredible cook and well really that’s the only reason that i had frineds for a long time I should not be suprised). Last night I cooked mexican for our bideshi (foreigner) fellowship and I was making homemade salsa (and let me tell you pace picante has got nothing on my homemade salsa.. i dont mean to be boastful… but well it’s awesome). In cooking you get suprised sometimes. Things that you think will work out don’t.. (like lately every box mix i’ve tried which is so easy from american doesn’t work out.. it burns or something) but then the things you are not sure about turn out so well. Like the homemade salsa.. i didn’t even know in america that ou can make salsa without a can.. hehehhe.. so I was thinking about last night how God is the ultimate cook.. he’s cooking up something awesome with our lives. And what we thinks will be not taste good can make a recipe.. like the vinegar would not taste by itself but when you make the perfect combination of tomatoe and vinegar and salt and sugar.. it makes a great taste. So many times people look at God and say how could a good God do this in our life. But what they don’t realize is that God is cooking up something and he’s got the ultimate recipe. The eggs and salt would not taste good by themselves… but when you put it al together. . yummy it makes an increidlbe cake added with other things. God had a different recipe for me then i thought he would of what my ministry would like here. I had ideas that i would work alot with the oprhan kids, lead people to the lord ect. But God’s recipe is differnet and sometimes looks completly diferent then i would plan. I would not have guessed that most of my ministry here would occur out of my home, that God would give me an incredible Bible study group of woman and tha i would be teaching them in nepalee six months after being here. I love that God’s recipe is so much beter then we could ask or imagine.. he promises that in his word. So I am asking you to celebrae with me today God’s recipe that is working up in your own life. HE is using the perfect ingridients, which sometimes can include a litle suffereing, frustration, a little pain here and there with alot of joy and peace sprinkled in!
ok.. enough of that. I had a great weekend. WE have had someone at our house every night this week. which is exactly how I like it. IF you could .. pray tonight our shopkeper mom and dad who are very hindu are coming over for dinner (I love them so much). The tomorow night we are going to meet agirl that will possibly begin coming to our biblestudy and also to meet with this hindu families son. He is 13 and has been very suicidal and mentally tormented and his hindu family asked for prayer for him. Please be in prayer as we go meet with this family. You guys are so awesome. I am so glad that God wrote you in the recipe called my life.
I loved your profound post about cooking. YOu should defionatly write a book. However, I disagree that vinegar does not taste good by itself..hehhe. since I have been pregnant, I have been craving vinegar. IT is the weirdest thing. Espicially salt and vinegar potato chips.yum. Well I’m praying for you and had a great time talking to you on the phone.
