bowling in nepal?

So Who knew that there would be bowling in nepal. A bowling alley.. that was quite supring to me. But in fact there is.. I just got back from bowling.. in an alley with 3 lanes.. hehehe.. it’s quite hilarious really but we had a blast. Today I just kindof took a fun day and it was great. Several people from a different m company that are friends with the people in my fellowship have come in to spend the week in nepal, so we pretty much spent the whole day together and just had a blast. It’s amazing how you can be perfect stranger ones minute and like best friends the next minute. That is because we are all in this together here. We have all experienced the joys and struggles of living here in south asia for jesus which makes you bond in an unexplainable way. We are able to share with eachother and it really is quite a blessing. How beautiful is the body of Christ. We had a great day together just fellowshiping, debreifing, laughing alot and sharing our hearts.
So this week has been a great one. The day after christmas went back to work at language and normal life. Can I just tell that language has been such a blessing, I know that you guys are praying because I am able to communicate and understand and i love language class.. we just laugh and have a great time together. So language, and then Wednesday night I met with my discipleship group. I just love those ladies so much. They are beautiful. IT’s always quite interesting because they do not really understand english, so I am trying to teach in nepalee.. but it’s just amazing. I love sharing life with those ladies. It’s beautiful and I feel so blessed. Next week we are gong to have a new year’s party together.
Then Thursday we met wtih a Hindu friend of mine that i had met at lee in america. It was really great to hang out with her and her family. We are gong to have dinner wtih her family on Saturday, so just pray that God moves in a mighty way!
Sometimes I still feel like I need to pinch myself living this life.. I mean my job is to build relationships.. wow.. it could not be a better job for me. I love my Jesus and his humor. I laugh all the time here. You have to or things would drive you crazy. It would drive me crazy all the marraige proposals I get if I didn’t laugh.. it’s as common as what is your name. I will be in a taxi and can predict the conversation. Tapail laie sun sai cha (how are you) ek dum rhomro ( i am very good). Tapaiko shriman cha (do you have a husband) .. then much laughter and giggeles by the taxi driver when I say no. then he responds Kina (why) and I say Paremesore dinabiena (God has not given me one) and then they say mailai taipiko shriman ( I can be your husband) sometimes they will even add maya garchu ( i love you) . Well as touching as that is (not)……. i just have to laugh. Or laugh when I say the wrong thing. Or laugh asI am trying to find my way around without getting lost. Or laugh when i am literall riding in a small minivan packed with at least 100 nepalees and a goat smelling all their armpits. Laughing when i realize that the garbage man have all gone on strike and that’s why there are piles of trash like you can’t imagine. Laugh when it’s hard to hear my language teacher because the cow is eating in our rice field in front of our gate and mooing loudly. Laugh at the crazy ugly street dog with an underbite. Laugh at all the people in tamel who try to get me to buy tiger balm off the streets.. hehehe.. who even knows what that is and why would you pay 10 dollars for it? They laugh at me when i say my tourist hoina ( i am not a tourist) This is a fascinating, wonderful like that God has called me to life. Day by Day moment by moment trying to live shining his light in the darkness!

by the way i bowled a big wooping 50 tonight.. but i didn’t feel to bad.. that rest of the peopple that were with me weren’t that good either

  1. Have I told you lately who amazing you are. You are just so excited about anything that God gives you in life. You think that you laugh in Nepal. Everybody here laughs at all the things that you do and say and the things that you experience. You are such a blessing to everyone here and there. It is amazing how you handle everything that comes your way. We love you so very very much. We love reading your blogs and getting to talk to you and see you. We miss you very much but we know God is doing amazing things through you because you are a willing vessel for him to work with. We are so proud of you because you are a very special young lady who loves the Lord and is willing to be used by Him daily. I am glad you took some time to relax. We look forward to hearing from you and getting to talk to you. I love you very very much. Love Mommy

  2. I THINK I can speak for everyone when I tell you it is great to heat from you! “There is a time to Laugh.” I can only imagine the bond you most feel with each crew there. A CHEERFUL HEART IS GOOD MEDICINE!” I bet they don’t have bowling wheelchair ramps in nepal. I am glad we got to at least say Merry Christmas on Christmas day here.

Can we have a skype date soon? Did you get your Christmas present from me yet? It’s funny you top the record in our group for not only most marriage proposals, but also you’ve turned the most men down. lol!

We have company coming in from Ohio tonight, but I hope to update my blog soon! I got Apples to Apples game for Christmas! Does Nepal celebrate New Years? I love you!

I am so glad you love the clothes. I bought the red and white shirt for you because you could wear it either to go running or all day long, because it is cute and comfortable. So you just flaunt your beautifulness in it. Please take some pictures wearing your clothes. I would love to see it.
I took the spoonman picture and wreath just for you. I knew if you were there you would point out the color coordination, so I did it for you. I also really love your spoon man.
    Love you

  4. Hey sweet friend! Don’t try to pretend like men aren’t falling all over themselves for you over there. You are precious and beautiful. I miss you so much and I’m feeling a little desperate for a skype date with you! Love you lots!

  5. Bowling in Nepal! I have heard everything now! I want to know are all the bowling balls black, or did they have colored ones? Also did you have to rent shoes like they do here in USA? With only three lanes did you have to wait to be able to play? You know I always have questions. Ha! I think it is so cool how all the m’s from different companies socialize and hang out together. I think that is great! I told TJ yesterday that I can not believe that you have been there for almost five months. It seems like at times you have been gone a year. Now, for all those marriage proposals…You be careful girl! If I were you I would wear that ring you bought and tell them you are married to a KING! I saw your sister the other evening when TJ went to spend the evening with her and the girls. She looks good! We are going to be keeping a close watch on her. I want you to check on a Big envelope at the post office. It was mailed on Dec. 6th. The number of the customs declaration form is: CP464295269US I hope that it didn’t get lost. TJ has something special that she made for you to read in there. Well this has gotten a little long. I should have just emailed you. Anyway, hang in there and we think of you all the time and continue to pray for those language lessons. Must be working! Btw. Does the Dalmatian dog speak Nepali or English! Just been meaning to ask. Ha! Love, Momma Ellis

  6. mama ellis.. in answer to your hilarous questions.. most of the time the dogs speak nepalee.. especially when i want them to know they are in trouble i speak nepalee to them.. hehehe.. and i have been looking for the envelope, no luck yet, but hopefully it will come soon. If you saw the post office in nepal i promise you would understand why it is the grace of God everytime I get a package.. hehehe.. and they did have multicolored balls…. it looked like a bowling alley from the 80’s.. loud music and the beautiful shoes. It was awesome. And we rented the bowling alley for 1.00 so that we could use all of the lanes because there was 12 of us.. it’s really really cheap to bowl here. i miss you guys so much and i appreciate your amazing faithfulness to keep up wtih my life.
