I’m back
Thank you so much for praying for all my many travels. When it counted it up, in three weeks I took 7 plane rides in 3 weeks.. ate 6 plane meals.. and not a one time did I get sick or my plane not leave as scheduled.. glory! So I got back last night and it was back to the ballgame today as I started back with language lessons. My language teacher is so gracious… hehehe.. frankly i didn’t study at all while I was gone.. so we just had review today. I told me that i was a very narhomro biderte (not a good student).. but we had a great language lesson and I could still remember how to have a conversation with the taxi driver at the airport and tell the taxi drivers who took me as a tourist at the airport and were trying to charge me 2000 rupees for a ride that should be 200 rupees that was very mahango cha, ma tourist chinai, ma nepalma boschu (i am not a tourist, I live here and I know this is very expensive).
I had a great rest of the time with my friends in bangkock. It is amazing the body of Christ.. i do not know these friends that well, but when you are apart of the body of Christ and you are serving Christ overseas, it is a family! I got to teach english at an english outreach to slum chilren one day. It was hilarious. I went just to observe– i should have known that they would expect me to teach. So the kids were just looking at me, not saying a word. So I decided to teach these children in thailand the hokey pokey– that’s an essential english song. We were having a blast until one of them hokey pokeyed to much and busted her knee and head on the floor. How do you explain to the leader of the church outreach when you speak no thai that you just killed one of your students 🙁 And then the vocabulary word i was supposed to teach them to spell and use was diarrhea.. how hilarous is that. I don’t even know how to spell that!
I made sure to eat a burger at outback.. (delicious) go to see a movie in first class (they give you a recliner and everything), and to drink at starbucks everytime i could. Now I am back in the third word and I can tell because the electricity went out twice as I was writing this 🙂 It is weird to go from 85 degree thailand to where i am right now wearing 3 long sleeve shirts to keep warm.
Please pray for me as I continue in my language learning and am beginning to prepare for my teamate leah to join me in the beginning of december. I am so excited that she is coming. Pray for her also. Thank you for your faithfulness to me. Do you know how much the Lord loves you. Isiah 61 says the spirit of the sovereign lord came to set the captives free. I am surronded by so many captives. Rejoice today that you are set free! And if you feel you are in bondage to something– let him SET you free, because if the son has set you free you are free indeed.
i’m trying to post some pictures of my trip in phuket, but it’s taking a while.. so i am not sure
