You know your in South Asia when…

You know you have lived in south asia when… (this is a list I compiled in my mind today)
1) you are enjoying your first shower in four days and you are so excited that it is hot water (becasue the sun is shining) that you stand under the hot water and sing at the top of your lungs and it feels so good that you stand for five minutes and forget that you will run out of water– so you stand under the water, the water runs out and you still don’t get a shower.. whoops! That happened to me today!
2) you see a bunch of chickens on the road and you think that one might be good for dinner
3) it’s not weird anymore to see cows stroll up to your gate, or to wait for them to cross the street.
4) you start to dream in another language !

ok.. so that’s just the beginning of my list. I find myself laughing out loud all the time here at the crazy things I see. I wish you could journey with me for even one day. Thanks for being apart of what is going on here by reading these blogs.

so today was a very exdum rhombro din (very nice day). But I have to tell you about my kiss from the king yesterday. Yesterday was a frustrating day. My heart was breaking for the people everywhere who had been to the temple to do their puja (worship) for the hindu holiday. Everywhere you go there are goats.. (i mean everywhere) waiting to be sacrificed. If I didn’t know what they were for I would have thought it humurous yesterday as I saw goats being transported every possible way– motorcyle, minibus (you think a bus smells with non-deoderant/bathing people– try riding one with that plus 10 goats.. hehehe.. !) Anyways– so my heart was just breaking for the people yesterday. And i was riding back in a taxi that the guy tried to charge me triple the price. usually i am a pushover.. but that day I was frustrated. I told him that was dery mahango cha (in the most intimidating way i could… that’s to expensive), and he was a very na rhomro manche (Bad man). I was getting out the taxi so frustrated and just saddened by all the hopeless people I saw around me. Then I turned and God had parted the clouds and I could see the entire range of the himilayan mountains, including Mt. Everest. It took my breath away. What an incredible kiss from the king! He reminded me again.. lift your eyes to the hills Jenn– your help comes from me!

so anyways– today was a great day. I had some awesome conversations with people– and i am so please with the supernatural ability God is giving me to speak nepalee. Wow.. it’s so cool to be able to have a conversation in their language. Now just pray i don’t forget it over the next three weeks.. ok so this is really long.. so I will post on friday night before I leave more specific prayer requests for my time in india.

I love you guys
