the game of life, mexican food and discipleship

I have the funnest time trying to think of titles for these blogs. It’s really quite random but life here is always different and random so… it’s a fun little game for me!

I appreciate your comments and encouraging words on my blog soo much. Thank you thank you thank. And thank Sandra Rose.. I got another incredibly encouraging card from you today. You defionatly win for the most encouraging mail catagory. It’s hilarous because the people at the post office are my friends and they get so excited to give me mail.. they are like little kids 🙂

So today was a great day. Although wow.. i wish you could experience firsthand the overwhelming heaviness that is in this country right now as they are in the midst of this Hindu holiday. I am so glad that as that little kids song says, my God is so big, so strong and so mighty there’s nothing my God cannot do!
So this morning I met my friend Sita for our discipleship class. We are now beginning to meet everyday and its just awesome. We met at a coffeeshop (she had never been to one before) and went over 1 Corinthians chapter 2. It’s amazing because we do it all in nepalee.. i have no idea how.. but God is giving me the words and she is amazing. MAHIMA! (glory)
After discipleship i had my two hour language class. I have made it to book two. Wahoo. I just had a blast. Then my teammate Nathan and my future teammate, his fiance came over for dinner. I wanted to get the oppertunity to pray wtih them, as Sarah is leaving to go back to america soon. We made: homemade tortillas.. homemade salsa (that is so fun to make.. i get to pretend like i’m a pampered chef lady again) , refried beans and had us a good old mexican feast. I am so blessed by them. After eating we had prayer and then played a fun game of life. Some days it’ just God’s gift to us to let us play. So.. have you played or done something that makes you come alive this week.? If not, go play in the rain or something… laugh your head off, hug your family, take a hot shower– these are all small gift that I believe are blessings from the Lord. (I got to walk in the rain today– it was fun.. it’s getting cold here).

So I have exciting news. God has opened several oppertunities for me. I am leaving Friday to go to Calcutta India to meet up with two friends of mine that were on my summer team when i was here the first time. Please pray for us as we try to find ways to minister there for four days. Then I am going to Bangalore India. I am so excited about this. For most of you that know me, you know my dream is to speak at womens’ conferences around the world. God is the dream come true maker. Already after 3 months here I will be getting to go to Bangalore and help at a ladies conference for Indian women. I get to speak twice.. so please be in prayer for that. Then I am going to thailand for vacation. So if you will keep all of this in your prayers. I will post specific prayer requests in my next blog.

i love you guys and God loves you more. Listen to him sing over you today. Rejoice that you are not getting together with your family this weekend and sacrificing a goat to try to earn the approval of God. Rest in that God loved you enough to sacrifice his son for you.

Blessings

I’m excited for you. You are teaching me about living by grace through your journey. It reminds me of the song simple things by Amu Grant. Glad you enjoying your time more. You are indeed growing… Love you tons! I work Helpline tonight.

  2. Jenn: I came in from work today and my Mom said you want believe this? She went to get today’s paper because there is an Nepali teacher visiting Hamilton Co. Schools and Mumzie, said, “We have to send this to Jenn!” So we will try to get the article in the mail to you. I guess you could just go online to the chattanooga paper and read it! ha!

Speaking of blogging! Will you get to blog while you are away? How long will you be gone? Our thoughts and prayers will be with you on this trip. I am so excieted that you will get to speak at the conference. Is this the conference where there will be some ladies from Chattanooga? You are so awesome and you will knock them off their seats because God always is faithful to see you through every talk and word that you plant for him.

  5. Jenn,
I was super excited to talk to you last night. That was a present from the Lord. I am so sorry I was out to eat. I was just starving, as I usually am on wed after church. I hope you didn’t feel like I didn’t want to talk to you, because I was praying you would call. I miss you so so much. I am so proud of you and blessed to call you my sis. God is going to show up in India. Glory. Please call me before you go.
    Love
    Michelle
