Coffe dates with Jesus

I just finished my coffee date with Jesus for the morning. It is hilarious because in america I had the hardest time making myself get up every morning early enough to have my quiet time with Jesus when I had to be at work at a certain time. Here I have no set schedule.. yet I wake up every morning at 6 and if I wake up at 7 i feel like I have overslept. I think it’s because that time from 6-7 is the quietest time here– most of the other time people are always coming in and out of my house. And I found that here I can’t make it without hearing the words of Jesus.. so I love my coffee time with him (starbucks from america of course… he speaks so much better that way .. it’s a christian addiction so it’s ok right)

I have had a good rest of the week. Thank you so much for praying for my language.. the lessons have been great this week and we have had a great time. I am going to try to post a pic of me and my teacher.. him trying not to laugh and me blatently laughing.

Starting on monday I am going to start going through the book of 1 cor with my nep. best friend sita. We are going to try to do it three days a week in nepalee.. hehe… that may be an ambitious idea, but just pray for that ok 🙂 Today after church I am going with my cute roomie to her village which is about 30 minutes away to meet her hindu family. .. i am really excited about that.

I love how here God speaks about the smallest things… if I am willing to listen. I always ask him which taxi to get in if I am going somewhere… because riding in a taxi can be a really SCARY thing and then if you get a scary driver it’s no fun. Also, I have found riding in taxis to be my best language practice and chance to tell people about jesus. The past two taxis i have ridden in somehow God allowed me to share the gospel with them, to the best of my ability in nepalee. How amazing is God. Last night I was going to the airport to say goodbye to my friend, and there was a row of 5 taxis to chose from. I asked God which one and he told me the one in the middle. It was a great taxi experience and i got to share alot with the man. Isn’t it awesome that if we are willing to listen God cares about the smallest details in our lives.

Which taxi are you supposed to ride in today?

  1. Jenn,

I am so happy to hear that your language lessons went well this week. God is truly answering our prayers.

In my time with Jesus this morning, I was praying for you. I always refer to the specific things you asked us to pray for each day of the week. For Saturday, you asked us to pray that God will wrap His arms around your family while you are away. And you asked us to pray that you will allow God to take the details of each day.

I think asking the Lord to show you which taxi to take qualifies as letting Him take the details of every aspect of your life. What a great reminder that we need to let God use even the smallest things in our lives to reflect His glory.

You certainly are shining brightly for Him.

    Much love,
    Sandra

  2. Jenn,

How amazing and exciting it is to see God answering my prayers for you! I prayed a lot last night which would have morning over there.

I’ve also been praying for your little cousin Emma! Your mom called me yesterday. I’ll write you another letter soon.
Jocelyn’s party was today. I love that little girl so much Jenn! She truly has brought such joy to my heart!

God is so good. Kim’s blood count is higher than it has ever been! I’ve praying God would help you see his hand in even the small matters. Have a great Sunday there! Bryan & Amy’s last Sunday with BHBC is tomorrow, but the sadness is getting easier, though at times it still comes in huge waves. I am excited for them though, because the time is right. I love you!
